Best Seat in the House

This isn't cooking related... But... I can't tell you how excited I am with how my little "jazz up the porch" project turned out!

The porch still has a few finishing touches that need finished, so my husband thought that I was a little nutty for needing to conquer this asap but I had to get this project out of my head.. I blame my need of instant project gratification on my dad (love you dad).. So yesterday I went to two Pier 1's to gather a chair and seat cushions.. The store to get 1 more can of spray paint (I already had the red but needed a blue)..

I also already had one chair (the less scrolly one), it was buried in weeds when we bought our house, the tray I've had and it's been many colors and has had just as many different uses and the plant stand that I used as a base.. Used to belong to my mom... But I kind of stole it... Thanks mom (love you too)..! And also thanks to my sister who took my emergency phone call and gave me paint color advice, which I gladly followed.

This morning I got up ran outside, grabbed the now dry chairs and assembled my seating area. Where things get funny is that my "project scoffing" husband also wanted to check it out so he showed up to the party with coffee for us and we sat on the porch like people do.. Then when it was time to go in and get ready for the day... Guess who had locked us out of the house? It wasn't me... I wasn't the last one out... Lottie??? Lottie?? Can you hear us?? Luckily we may or maynot have a spare key.. I'm not telling..

The project kind of speaks for itself, so I don't really have how-to pictures, but I do have a couple of along the way pictures. I wish I would have taken pictures of the chairs from the start but ohh well. I felt a little bad painting a brand new chair, but beings I paid less than half price for it, I didn't feel too bad.

Here goes:

Here it is, the best seat in the house! Ok, really the best seats outside the house, but if you need me, this is where I'll be!

  2. Thank you! And thanks for your color advice. I also have an idea in mind for a table centerpiece, will post another picture with that addition. And will probably be calling you for advice on what color it should be.. : )
