Monster Cookies

The best cookies ever.

This may be the easiest blog post of all time, because really that's all that there is to say about this cookie. It's a recipe from the collection of my great-Aunt Priscilla Johnson, and along with many other recipes from her collection, it's a family classic.

Monster Cookies

2 cups peanut butter
2/3 cup butter, softened
1-1/3 cups sugar
1-1/3 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon corn syrup
6 cups old-fashioned oats
2/3 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup M&M’s

In a large bowl, beat butters and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Add the baking soda, vanilla and corn syrup. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and M&M’s.

Drop by very heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 1 minute before removing to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 3 dozen large cookies (about 6 dozen if you make them regular sized).
